About Me

Hi! I'm Kristel and I'm a stay-at-home mama with a passion for baking and creating goodies. I could share all the details of how I got started, but the real reason for what I do is my 'why' - my mom.

My mom was a wonderful watercolor artist. When I was a child, she would sit with me at the dining room table with her easel propped up in front of her and her paint palette at hand. She would teach me how to shade the mountains in the distance or draw a self-portrait and talk to me about depth perception. She went to art workshops to try new art techniques and improve her artistry. Her art made her a self-starter. I didn't admire that quality in her growing up, but as I look back I see how she carried out her passion. She passed away a few years ago and I miss seeing her new drawings and sketches.

When I bake, I feel a connection with my mom. There's nothing I'd love more than to sit down together and create and design together, her with a blank watercolor canvas, and me with a blank cookie canvas. So while I am a stay-at-home mom baking cookies, there is more to my story and I live out my passion while keeping a piece of my mom in my heart.
